How Grün Engineering uses the personal data you give us through this website, forms and email.

Draft. To be checked before launch.

This page is a working draft and has not been reviewed by a legal adviser. Items in brackets still need confirming.

Who we are

Grün Engineering Limited is the controller of the personal data described here. That means we decide how it's used.

Exmouth Business Centre, 14 Hartley Road, Exmouth, Devon EX8 2SG
Email: sales@gruneng.com
Phone: 01395 201950
Registered in England and Wales, company number 15797358

We work with businesses, so most of the data we hold is work contact details for people at our customers, consultants and suppliers.

What we collect

  • Contact and quote forms: your name, company, email, phone and the details of your job.
  • Drawing uploads: drawings, photos and documents you send us. These can include names and contact details.
  • Warranty registration: the building, the owner or facilities manager, and the details of whoever services the boilers.
  • Instant quote: your mobile number, so we can text you a code before showing a price.
  • Approximate location: our homepage uses your rough location, worked out by our hosting provider from your IP address, to show projects near you. It's used once to sort the list and we don't store it.
  • Chat assistant: the questions you type into the website chat, and any details you add if you send a question to the team.
  • Emails: what you send us and our replies.
  • Analytics: how the website is used, such as pages viewed and the type of device, once analytics is added and only if you agree to it.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking: whether a visit from an advert led to an enquiry, once this is live and only if you agree to it.

Why we use it

We use your data to reply to you, price and plan your job, carry out the work, keep records, and improve the website.

Lawful basis

  • Steps before a contract: when you ask for a price or send drawings, we use your details to prepare a quote and set up the job.
  • Legitimate interests: answering business enquiries, keeping records of our work and running the website. We only do this where it doesn't override your rights.
  • Consent: for analytics and advertising cookies, once added. You can withdraw consent at any time.

We don't sell your data.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the website and our email. They only use the data to provide their service to us.
