The job
A generator exhaust, 52 metres up a riser.
We designed, supplied and installed the exhaust flue for a basement generator at King's Cross Plot S5 in London.
The flue connects to the silencer with a flanged adaptor, rises to ground level, then crosses a corridor wall to the main riser. From there it climbs about 52 metres to the 15th floor and turns out onto the roof.
Sections were lowered into the riser shaft on a chain and block, with a deadweight bracket every 10 metres. A second flue was added in 2023, and the system passed its leakage test.
