The job

Two boiler flues up the outside of the lab.

We designed, supplied and installed two new flues for the existing 500kW boilers at Plymouth Marine Laboratory in spring 2023.

Each Ø300 twin wall flue runs through the plant room on drop rod supports and leaves the building above the louvred plant room door.

Outside, the pair turn up the face of the building and rise side by side about 20 metres, held on wall brackets. Each flue has a test point, a drain and a draught stabiliser.
