The job
Making a failed flue safe.
We inspected and partly took down the flues mounted on a mast at Prestwick Airport.
They had failed: corroded liners, broken-down insulation and sheared brackets.
We lowered about 12 m of flue to the ground, capped what was left at the top and left the site safe.
Our condition report recommended full replacement in new twin wall insulated flue, with new brackets.
