The challenge
The hospital's two 1,750 kVA standby generators needed new exhausts.
Each run leaves the generator house through the louvred wall and has to climb the outside of the building past the roof edge.
Generator exhausts run under pressure, so every joint has to hold.
What we did
We surveyed and drew both routes in CAD.
Each run is a high pressure twin wall insulated system, Ø450 inside, flanged with a gasket at every joint and locked with V bands.
Each run has two elbows and a base tee, with structural and lateral supports up the wall.
A drain point sits at the bottom of each stack, and both finish in mesh terminals.
The result
Both exhausts were installed and certified in August 2024.
The certificate of conformity is dated 22 August 2024.
