The challenge
A new salmon farm on Loch Kishorn makes its own power. Four generators sit in one plantroom, and each needs an exhaust out through the roof.
It is one of our most remote sites. Materials, the cherry picker and the lifting team all came in on the single-track coast road.
Roof work had to carry on through persistent heavy rain.
What we did
Four separate Ø400 routes with test points and tee caps, grouped through the roof onto cantilever brackets.
The silencers sit on frames we made over the generator sets, lifted in with the lifting team on site.
The runs hang on strut channel and rod from the roof steels.
A chop saw station inside the plantroom kept cutting quick and the site tidy. We adjusted the roof method to suit the weather.
The result
The main install took two site weeks in November 2024.
Final connections were made once the generators were set. In December 2025 we fitted two elbows cut to suit, sealed the V band joints and lagged all eight elbow sections.
Certificate of conformity issued on 16 December 2025.
